Starting this year, Cinema Class for Beginners is now open to students not only from Sofia, but also from all over the country - you can enroll in the online edition, wherever you are. The first half of the course is rather theoretical (which does not mean "boring" at all, we assure you!) and will meet you with professionals from all the main units in cinema - script writing, directing, production, field organization, scenography, cinematography and acting and film history. In these activities, you will learn not only the important things about cinema such as art, origin and essence, but also interesting and important field practices in relation to the Bulgarian reality. Keep in mind that "theoretically" is very conditional, because from the first day we will throw you in the deep end - you will come up with, write and edit the script yourself, prepare it for the filming process, organize the shots, look for locations, look for or you create costumes and props, you will cast actors (or transform yourself into actors). All this will give you a chance to personally try everything and feel what you like the most, what you are better at than others and what you can contribute to the formation of a great cinema team of people of your age. In this case, we won't mention anything about parties and organizing screenings of great films in Kochinkata - that's what we call the office, you'll understand why. We won't say a word about the parties.

The so-called practical phase of the course and the work on the short films of Kinoklas begins in the spring. We will form teams and meet live in Burgas, where after the film festival the filming will take place. This does not fully apply to the Sofia class, they can shoot afterwards, but for the Bulgaria class, Burgas is the place. Nadeto Koseva will be present on the field, as well as some of the other teachers who will help you in shooting the film. After the material is shot, there is an intensive period of post-production. In it, you will be able to not only learn how to work with a processing program in film format, but also understand what editing is and how it is done. Together, we will review several edits of each film and screen them in front of focus groups until we arrive at an edit that is satisfactory to both the director and crew, as well as the faculty. After finalizing the picture and sound of the films, at the end of July we will arrange a solemn summer premiere in front of a full house at the House of Cinema. As well as a party (but about the parties, right – not a word)!
