In 2018 and 2019, Nadezhda Koseva - a proven Bulgarian film director and producer, started the first film classes for students and young people in the First Private Mathematical Gymnasium - Sofia and Sofia Film Fest on the coast - Burgas. The success of these ventures led to the creation of Auris Film EOOD, founded in 2020 and supporting the creation, development and distribution of creative products in the field of cinema. The accumulated experience and inspiration from the classes held and the interaction with over 100 students from Sofia and the country lead to the creation of KinoKlas Foundation - an organization for public benefit, whose main goal is the development and dissemination of film knowledge and film art among young people (pupils, students) in an interactive and inspiring way.
The cinema classes conducted by us are based on a new educational approach - a person-oriented process in which the passive listener becomes an active participant and is placed at the center of the educational interaction. Innovative learning methods are applied and
perception of film art - through teamwork, project-oriented learning, conducting in-depth discussions, incl. critical reflection and analyses. The curriculum that we have developed and implemented over the last two years through proven film specialists aims to attract and introduce children and young people to a new and unknown world of examples of world, European and Bulgarian cinema.
The program for one cinema class includes the following stages:
Through our film classes, we aim to develop an underrepresented line in the art, namely the access to education for the youngest audience (schoolchildren and students) of cinema. We believe that cinema educates in values and that this education predetermines and influences the intellectual and emotional development of the young generation. Acquainting young people with separate components of the film language accustoms them to a much deeper analysis and knowledge of the art of cinema. He meets them with active filmmakers who can become not only their teachers, but also their inspirations. In film classes, not only the professional line of creating a film product is discussed and analyzed, but also an in-depth discussion of personal stories, relationships between people, which are intertwined in the storylines of the created works. Applying this critical reflection in joint discussions provokes young people to think and analyze their own world, experiences and environment; it teaches them how to express their emotions, fears and knowledge.
We give young and debuting talents the opportunity to express themselves and create connections with established professionals.
In addition, film professionals (established actors, directors, cinematographers, screenwriters, editors, etc.) involved in leading the film classes get an exceptional opportunity to develop their professional skills, passing on their knowledge and experience to children and youth. Our permanent staff of professionals includes the following proven names in the film industry, and the same will be involved in the current project: Nadezhda Koseva (director and director), Martina Apostolova (acting), Ivelina Mineva (scenography), Kiril Prodanov (cinematography) . For the purposes of the project, new specialists will be attracted.
As a result of the film classes held, we can boast that we inspire and help guide young people professionally, with some of our younger participants continuing their higher education in the field of film art. This motivates us to make even more efforts in the development and dissemination of film culture among our society.
