In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of screenwriting, explore different approaches to writing, and understand the key elements of a screenplay. We will examine common mistakes, debunk myths in the craft, highlight practices that work (and those that don’t), and develop skills to help you see how a story can be made stronger.

The course is divided into two parts, with independent work on your texts scheduled between sessions.

When? 

• November 10–14 – first block 18:30-21:30
• November 15–18 – work on a task 
• November 19–21 – comments on the assignment 18:30-21:30
• November 22–25 – editing (independent work at home)
• November 26–28 – final part 18:30-21:30

Total: 11 days × 3 hours per day = 33 astronomical hours of tutoring

The full course duration is November 10–28.

Simeon Ventsislavov is the screenwriter of the films “Directions”, “Aga”, “In a Circle”, “The Lessons of Blaga”, “Bezvetrije”, “The Herd”, “Made in EU” and others.

The films he has worked on have won over 100 national and international awards and have been selected for festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale, Venice, and Karlovy Vary. Four of these films were Bulgaria’s Oscar submissions, and three were shortlisted for the European Film Awards.
